This session will explore the intersection of business, community resilience, and policy advocacy, and how purpose-driven companies can make a difference in moments of crisis and beyond. This will be a chance to collaborate, brainstorm, build partnerships and create plans for action.
This Lunch & Learn will ground us in the foundations of food justice and explore how we, as businesses and individuals, can take meaningful action. We’ll unpack key questions like:
How do local food pantries and distribution networks work, and where can our efforts make the biggest difference?
Is it more impactful to give time or money to support hunger relief organizations?
What does it look like for businesses to engage in policy advocacy that addresses the root causes of hunger and inequality?
Rose Williams-Guevara from Oregon Food Bank and will share insights into our local food system, what’s driving food insecurity in Oregon, and how community partnerships are key to long-term solutions.
We’ll also hear from the team at Straightaway Cocktails, who will share their experience quickly mobilizing a fundraiser to support Oregon Food Bank and PDX Free Fridges, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how values-driven action can ripple out to create real impact.
Together, we’ll explore how the B Corp community can meet this moment: ensuring people have food today while working collectively to build a system where everyone has food tomorrow.
