B Local PDX Lunch & Learn: Taking Collective Action with Oregon Food Bank

  • Evolve Collaborative 2909 Northeast Prescott Street Portland, OR, 97211 United States (map)

This session will explore the intersection of business, community resilience, and policy advocacy, and how purpose-driven companies can make a difference in moments of crisis and beyond. This will be a chance to collaborate, brainstorm, build partnerships and create plans for action.

This Lunch & Learn will ground us in the foundations of food justice and explore how we, as businesses and individuals, can take meaningful action. We’ll unpack key questions like:

  • How do local food pantries and distribution networks work, and where can our efforts make the biggest difference?

  • Is it more impactful to give time or money to support hunger relief organizations?

  • What does it look like for businesses to engage in policy advocacy that addresses the root causes of hunger and inequality?

Rose Williams-Guevara from Oregon Food Bank and will share insights into our local food system, what’s driving food insecurity in Oregon, and how community partnerships are key to long-term solutions.

We’ll also hear from the team at Straightaway Cocktails, who will share their experience quickly mobilizing a fundraiser to support Oregon Food Bank and PDX Free Fridges, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how values-driven action can ripple out to create real impact.

Together, we’ll explore how the B Corp community can meet this moment: ensuring people have food today while working collectively to build a system where everyone has food tomorrow.
