This half-day workshop focuses on assisting B Corps in understanding their regional cultural contexts and how to better articulate their purpose-driven businesses within those contexts. Design thinking exercises will be used to generate ideas that can be implemented on a shoe-string budget with maximum impact.
This workshop is led by Rosanna Garcia, Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Denver and Emily Medley Landry, Sociology PhD candidate at the University of Tennessee, both founding members of the B Academic Community. Rosanna has consulted with aspiring B Corp companies since 2014 and Emily’s dissertation research focuses on the obstacles and opportunities B Locals are facing around the United States. Pre-and post-workshops surveys will be administered to help stimulate conversation.
This is event is for B Corp Employees only.
Some of the workshop takeaways are:
A refined mission statement for your purpose-driven enterprise
A shortlist of new and actionable possibilities for collaboration within the B Local community
Sharing of preliminary results from the survey taken before the workshop. (access the survey here!)
A practitioner-focused report that captures the content of the workshop as part of a larger study that includes 10 B Locals.
Fun and food and time with great people, of course!
Lunch will be provided, so no need to bring food with you! If you have any dietary restrictions, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
