B Local PDX is hiring for an Administrative Director!

Overview:

B Local PDX is a group of Certified B Corporations from Oregon & Southwest Washington working to foster and deepen connections among organizations in our region who share our purpose and passion for using business as a force for good. We’re a community that helps business people act on their purpose to achieve socio-economic and environmental impact through meaningful relationships. We work to provide certification support for aspiring and existing B Corps, connections for growth opportunities, and collaboration around social & environmental impact.

As the sole staff member of a dynamic business organization, the Administrative Director is tasked with a wide range of responsibilities and deliverables. These include administrative support for the board and organization, while also encompassing executive responsibilities required to foster growth, program excellence and long term organizational sustainability. This position will report to the B Local PDX board, providing regular updates on progress and initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Membership Development: Ensure success of B Local PDX membership program and member engagement (events, communications, recruitment and retention) under the direction of the Board’s Executive Committee.

  • Event Logistical Support: Provide logistical and administrative support for in-person and virtual event planning (venues, procurement, Eventbrite, and Zoom) under the direction of the Board’s Events Committee.

  • Administrative Support: Manage the ongoing administrative needs of B Local PDX (nonprofit and bylaws compliance, insurance, mail, and board meeting management).

  • Communications Support: Develop and manage website and email communications (Squarespace, MailChimp, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook) under the direction of the Board’s Communications Committee.

  • Volunteer Management: Recruit and support volunteer engagement in events and community activities.

  • Financial Management: Work within Quickbooks to ensure invoices, sponsorships, pledges, and other transactions are accurately issued and recorded, and books and required documentation are accurate and timely. Organizational accounting is also supported by a contract accountant.

Qualifications 

  • 2-5 years project management and supervisory (volunteers or employees) experience

  • Able to carry out self-directed work

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Understanding of and passion for the B Corp movement

  • Demonstrated volunteer recruitment and engagement

Employment Pay and Benefits

  • Annual Salary of $54,000 at 32 hours per week
